FLRT Energy Drink • Sunset Squeeze
FLRT Energy Drink • Sunset Squeeze Review
I was minding my own business, grabbing my usual Alani Nu, when these simple but undeniably pretty FLRT Energy drinks stopped me dead in my tracks from an end cap at Target. Beautiful packaging, bright colors, clearly designed to catch the eye of women who are just trying to get their caffeine fix without feeling like they’re drinking something called “BEAST MODE XTREME.” Mission accomplished, FLRT. You got me.

What is FLRT Energy Drink?
Here’s something interesting I discovered while doing my research: FLRT is actually a Monster Energy brand. I know… I had the same reaction. I have never once enjoyed a Monster energy drink in my life, but apparently the big guys have figured out that buying up smaller brands that actually appeal to women is a solid business strategy. Looking at you, Celsius. Whether that changes how you feel about FLRT is up to you, but I will say that this does not taste like a Monster. Not even close.
How Does FLRT Sunset Squeeze Actually Taste?
Let’s get to what actually matters. Sunset Squeeze reminds me of Squirt; that citrusy, slightly grapefruity soda that was an old-school classic growing up. It is bright, a little tangy, and just sweet enough without going overboard. The flavor is clean and it does not have that artificial aftertaste that immediately ruins an energy drink for me. I am looking at you, every Red Bull flavor ever made.
I do not drink coffee, so energy drinks are my caffeine delivery system of choice. That means I have very strong opinions and very high standards. I have rarely found a Celsius I liked (I know, unpopular opinion) and Red Bull tastes like someone dissolved a vitamin in carbonated sadness. Alani Nu has been my gold standard for years and FLRT is the first drink that has made me think “okay, this is a real contender.”

FLRT vs Alani Nu • The Honest Comparison
I would be doing you a disservice if I did not address the elephant in the room. I keep bringing up Alani Nu because it is genuinely the benchmark for me when it comes to women-focused energy drinks. Great flavors, no weird aftertaste, and they marketed directly to women before it was trendy to do so.
FLRT is not as bold in design, but the cans definitely caught my eye enough to take a second look and *gently* toss it into my shopping cart. The taste is very good. But because Alani Nu exists and because my standards are frankly unreasonable, FLRT comes in just slightly below for me on pure flavor intensity. The fizz is also a touch subtle for my liking. I want that satisfying fizz that reminds me I am drinking something with some personality. FLRT is just a little more understated than I prefer.
That said, if Alani Nu did not exist, FLRT would be my everyday drink without question.
A Word on Energy Drinks and Your Health
Since there have been several rumors circulating about Alani Nu and heart health concerns in young women, I want to address it briefly because I think it is important. My personal take is that the issue is almost never the drink itself. It is consuming several in a single day. I stick to one per day maximum and I have for years. Any energy drink consumed in excess is going to cause problems. One a day, stay hydrated, and use your common sense.
Is FLRT Worth Buying?
Yes, absolutely worth trying, especially if you are an energy drink fan who is tired of the same three options at every gas station and grocery store. Pick it up at Target, try the Sunset Squeeze, and report back. I will be working my way through the other flavors and you will be hearing about every single one of them.
